Odin's raven magic video

Monday, April 6, 2009

I added on Youtube an excerpt from "Screaming masterpiece" - a 2005 documentary film directed and written by Ari Alexander Ergis Magnússon about the music scene in Iceland.
A part about "Odin's raven magic", you can see there how they play on that amazing ancient stone marimba.

and also an awesome live video found on Youtube

Odin's raven magic

Norway

Sigur Rós & Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson - Odin's raven magic (Live at the Barbican Hall 21-04-02)

A magnificent performance by Sigur Rós & Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson, accompanied by a string and brass orchestra and choir, as well as Steindor Andersen, chanting the 13th century icelandic poem "Odin's raven magic", upon which the piece is based.

Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson: "We never really made the transition to the modern world. So we are much more in touch with the occult - the invisible is so much with us. That is why Iceland is one of the spiritual centres of the world""
